Celebrity style #5: Alexa Chung.

Hi everyone, I hope you're all enjoying this sunny sunday afternoon, I for one have spent today doing french homework, boo!

I haven't done a celebrity style post in ages, mainly because I wasn't feeling inspired by anyone. However recently a certain Miss.Chung has been on everyone's radar, what with the release of her new book `It` (which I really want to read!) and LFW and generally looking gorgeous, I couldn't resist doing a post on her.

Alexa Chung I think is a bit`marmite`,  mainly it seems because of her very slender figure. Personally, I think calling someone `too skinny` is just as insulting as calling someone `too fat` so I try to stay well out of that side of things. But my point is, no one can deny the girls got style! I mean come on, she has a Mulberry bag named after her. Just saying.

Alexa is well known for her casual style, she can rock a playsuit as well as jeans, and most of all, she always looks effortless and has that `yeah I just threw on whatever` vibe going on. Definitely a girl after my own heart.

1.2.3.

1. This has to be my favourite casual outfit. It's so simple yet so chic. The blazer and shorts combo can be pretty hard to pull off, but obviously Alexa nails it. I also adore the little ankle boots and necklace, and of course, that bag.

2. The second outfit is a really cute look. The school girl-esque gingham print of the dress coupled with the collar and cuffs is just dreamy. The Valentino flats are to die for as well.

3. I love this outfit! Alexa makes even the most basic items that most of us have in our wardrobes look so up to date. The crisp white shirt and blue jeans will always be a winner in my eyes, I'm just not so keen on the sandals!

Alexa is always one to watch on the red carpet, just look at the ensembles!
1.2.3.

1. I absolutely adore this dress; the delicate sunflower print, the 50's shape and strappy bodice. If I ever graced a red carpet, this would be the look I'd go for.

2. The spacey print on this number is so cool! I love how this could be just a LBD, but the addition of the shiny top and print on the bottom sets it much higher in the fashion stakes.

3. This last dress is just so pretty, the colour and the sheer panel under the bust just make it perfect. I love the nude accessories as well.

One thing that defines Alexa is her long, choppy bob and winged liner, but she looks gorgeous in a range of make up looks.
1.2.3.

1. This look is really classic;  a bold red lip, bronzed face and more subtle eyes, it looks so pretty on Alexa.

2. This is my favourite look out of the three, and one that I love wearing myself, and as Alexa and myself have similar colouring being naturally pale and green eyed, I can take a lot of inspiration from her looks, yay! I nude lip and brown smokey eye ticks all the right boxes for me.

3. Finally we have a pretty pink look, with Alex's signature winged liner. This pale pink lip is quite a hard thing to wear, but of course she can rock it!

So that's it for another celebrity style, I think I've defo got my inspiration back so  look out for some more of these!
I'm going to Primark in a bit to get some bits for my autumn wardrobe, I've some really lovely pieces online so I'm looking forward to it :) + I've finally added some pages under my banner so be sure to check them out!

Tell me a piece of your history that you've never said out loud.

OOTD#27

Hello my loves,
I've got an outfit post for you today. This is a simple, comfy look, but I really like it. If you would like to see a FOTD post for this look, check it out here :)

Jumper- Topshop
Necklace- Accessorize
Watch- Olivia Burton
Jeans- Zara
Socks- Accessorize
Converse- Office

This is definitely my favourite necklace, it's just so versatile! It jazzes up a plain neckline and just adds some more interest to any outfit.

I was thinking about this the other day, and I've worn my watch for pretty much every day since my birthday and it's still as good as new and I love it as much as ever! Of course, today was no exception, I had my watch on :)

Another thing thats a total staple in my wardrobe are my white converse, they give any outfit that casual vibe which I love love love.

I know this wasn't the most inspirational OOTD out there , but I think it's good for the current transition we're going through, when one minute it's freezing the next there's beautiful sunshine!

I hope your all doing well, I can't believe it's almost the end of September, time is seriously flying by at the moment.

My first time tag.

Hiya everyone,
I feel like I haven't done a tag in forever, so when the lovely Elise tagged me I was really looking forward to doing it! The whole `my first time` thing was started by the gorgeous Louise who I'm sure needs no introduction, so that made me even more excited to do it :)

First bestfriend- My first ever best friend was a boy called Troy who went to the same  nursery as me, we used to play cinderella, him being my prince charming obviously hehe. My first bestfriend in school was a girl called Tegen, I introduced myself by tapping her on the shoulder and simply asking is she wanted to be my best friend and we have been ever since. If only everything was that simple eh?

First concert- My first concert was seeing One Direction last year. They were amazing! I went with my friend Lauren and although we were literally two rows from the back of the o2, we had a fab time!

First celebrity crush- I'm not actually sure for this one! Probably Zac Efron to be honest, I went through the whole High school musical stage and I mean, look at the man.

First word- Pretty much just the generic `muma` `dada`, although my mum told me that `remote` was also one of my first words.

First job- As I'm a fifteen year old, I obviously haven't really had any jobs, but I do a paper round, and I recently did two weeks work experience in a cafe.

First phone- First phone was so tiny! I had a silver sony ericsson t303 which was one of those slidy phones. Lets just say it wasn't a smart phone by any stretch of the imagination...

First tweet- Right I know I'm like the only person in the entire world, but I don't actually have twitter, not for any reason particularly, I just don't. My first Intagram picture on the other had was this one of me and some of my friends getting ready for my birthday meal.

First makeup item- I think it was a Collection mascara, it was pretty good actually!  How cute this this picture of me from one Chirstmas? I'd cleary been bought one of those cheapy make up sets and had rather a lot of fun with it!

So I would like to tag JadeEmma and Joni as well as anyone else who would like to do this :)

Be sure to let me know if you do this and don't forget to enter my MAC lipstick giveaway

Disappointing products.

Howdy everyone,
Now it's not often that you will hear me speaking negatively about a product, to be honest it's normally the opposite, AKA I won't stop raving and/or going on about it. The main reason for this is I like to do a bit of research before I buy a product,  whether that's reading blog posts about it or scrolling through the little reviews on the boots website.
Either way, I tend to be pretty clued up on what I'm going to be parting with my cash for. The main theme in this post is that I had not done my homework before purchasing these things, so really it's my fault I don't like these products, but hey you win some and you lose some right?

First up is some `T-zone` maximum action nose pore strips.

Now I know that loads of people swear by this kind of product, but I just can't get them to work for me. I've also tried the Biore ones, however I had the same experience as I did with these. I apply them as the instructions say, but when it comes to removal they are so painful! My eyes always fill with tears when I try to take one off, and when I have managed to, all it has done is leave a horrible residue on my face, and not unclog more pores at all. So I think it's safe to say this is not a product for me!

One thing that I do  absolutely HATE are these Quickies eye makeup remover pads.

We bought these on holiday because we had run out of make up remover (story of my life!) and the chemist we went to didn't have an alternative. I can safely say this is the worst product I have ever used to take of my makeup; for a start, the pads themselves are really thin and scratchy, and the solution they are soaked it is incredibly greasy. When I wiped this across my eye in the usual way, the product made my eyes go all fuzzy and uncomfortable. Basically, steer clear of these at all costs!

This next one is going to be controversial, because it is the Maybelline Baby lips. Now don't get me wrong, I like these, I even featured the `Hydrate` one is my August favourites, but I just think they are ridiculously over hyped.

I was expecting something really amazing, and maybe I just got it into my head that these were going to be the best thing ever, but to be honest, they're just ok. I'm also not a fan of glittery lips (see above swatch) so that was another factor in my disappointment.

Another lip product that doesn't do it for me is a Maybelline colour sensational lipstick.

Admittedly, it's the shade I was underwhelmed with. I even said it in my wedding haul that I wasn't very keen on it. I thought it was going to be an actual colour, rather than something pearlescent, and like I said with the baby lips, I don't like glitter!

Somehow this is another Maybelline product. I actually really like maybelline so I'm not really sure what's going on! The problem with this mascara for me is that it's just not effective.

I like a mascara to really do something, whether that's to lengthen, volumize or curl the lashes, and sadly this one isn't great at any of these. it's also brown, and from a girl who loves a black lash, it's off putting.

Lasty is a Collection (still 2000!) product.

Like everyone and their Mum, I love the Lasting perfection concealer. So with that in mind and the need for a new powder, I thought I'd give this one ago. Sadly, it makes me look really powdery and caked, and tends to wear off really easily. It also has that really weird old lady makeup smell. Yeah.

So these are the products I'm really not keen on, sorry if this was a really negative post to read, normal product raving will resume shortly!

What products disappoint you? Have you tried any of these?

Trend #5 : Totally Tartan.

Hello everyone :)
Guess what, this is my 100th post! I'm so proud that I've reached this milestone considering I've only been blogging since March. I feel like I've been blogging for about two minutes, so here's to another 100 posts! *raises mug of tea*

Anyway, onto todays trend, I'm absolutely loving tartan this season! I'm sure you're aware of this trend because everyone has been going crazy for it.

Tartan

Zara peter pan dress / Topshop plaid t shirt / Fashion Union Navy pleated skirt,  / Glamorous tartan playsuit, /Vivienne Westwood Tartan Card Wallet /Topman Red Tartan Scarf

My personal favourite has to be the Zara dress, look at it! I'm a sucker for anything with a collar so this ticks all of the boxes for me. I love the sort of schoolgirl feel it has to it, just too cute. Obviously I had to include some thing designed by the queen of tartan herself, Vivienne Westwood. I love the bright colours, it makes it a bit different, sadly this is definitely put of my price range, waahh. I have also been eyeing up the Topshop tee for a while, but I think it's pretty overpriced for what it is, if you've seen anything similar for cheaper let me know! Of course this wouldn't have been complete with out a tartan scarf, a total autumn classic.

I hope you're all having a good saturday so far, I'm going to Costa later for my first hot drink of the season!

What do you think of this trend? What's your favourite item?

p.s,  check out my giveaway!

Mini Primark and skincare haul.

Howdy everyone,
Now I don't know about you *but I'm feeling 22* but I always end up finishing skin care things all at once. Lets just say, I freak out, wonder how my skin is going to cope, and then accompany my Mum on our weekly Tesco shop ;)

I have literally three things from Primark, two of them being crazy boring, so we'll start off with them, and then I I'll give you a mini review of all of the skincare bits because I've had them for a little while now, sound good?

We'll start off with possibly the most exciting thing ever to be featured on my blog, cotton pads *tumbleweed*

I also picked up some new hair bands because I swear there is a little gremlin in my house who takes them, you know the one who also nicks your socks and hair grips.

Lastly from primark is this little cropped jumper;

I have another one like this in bright pink (ootd) and I absolutely love them! They're so cosy and slightly oversized so really comfy.  I adore the dusty blue colour of this one, with little flecks of pink and purple, so cute!

Now onto skincare, I've been wanting to try this since it was released because I've heard its a fab dupe for the blogger favourite bioderma but at a fraction of the price;

Ah I love this stuff! I haven't actually tried Bioderma so I can't compare it, but even if it's nothing like it it's great! I use it too take of all of my make up (including face and lips) and it leaves my skin feeling really clean and smooth. It's a breeze for removing eye makeup because it doesn't drag at all and actually dissolves it. I can highly recommend this, infact I've almost finished this bottle already!

Next up are a few repurchases, the first being the Nivea Express Hydration primer;

I've have raved about this so much (see here and here!) and for good reason, I use this everyday without fail before applying all of my make up, and it makes my base last so much longer. It also  moisturises as well as priming, so saves me some time in the morning as well.

I always have a bottle of this handy because it my favourite makeup remover. Me and my sister get through it at an alarming rate because it's so good! it takes a little more effort than the L'oreal skin perfector, but it's cheap as chips so I can deal with it!

This is another staple in my routine. I like to sweep it all over my face an neck before applying moisturiser. I tightens the face really nicely and leaves it SO soft.

Another simple product, sensing a pattern ;) I haven't tried this before, but Simple was on three for two so I thought I'd give it ago. I've been a pretty lazy with this, usually I just want to jump into bed after my skincare routine, but on the nights that I have used this, I have noticed a real difference in the smoothness of my eye area in the morning, and it feels like it really nourishes the skin.

If you would like to see my skincare routine, I did a post on it a little while ago now here, it's changed slightly , but not tonnes, so check it out if your interested!

What have you been buying lately? What are your favourite skincare products?

Hours were days when I was in you grace.

OOTD #27

Hiya loves,
This is the last of the outfits I photographed whilst I was on holiday, which literally feels like it was a forever ago now!

Necklace- Accessorize
Crop top- Primark
Skirt- H&M
Flats- Primark

The thing I love about this skirt is the print, Isn't it gorgeous! I love the combo of yellow, navy and white, it's a winner in my eyes. The material is really silky so I feels fab on, it's also fully lined so is a really nice quality garment.

I basically themed this whole outfit around the geometric print on the skirt, so I though my faithful triangle necklace fitted the bill nicely.

As did this pair of primark flats. I adore the tiny  cut out detail, and of course they went really well with my beloved watch!

This week has been a bit weird, the week has gone super fast, but everyday seemed to drag... I've decided to make all of my pictures larger, hopefully you can see my outfits better now!

What do you think of this outfit?
