Lifestyle: Snippets from my 16th birthday.

Hello everyone,
As promised, here are some pictures I snapped whilst we were in London for my birthday on Monday. I ment to take more, but I always get sidetracked and end up forgetting... I had the loveliest day so I hope you guys enjoy this post!

As I'm sure you can tell, one of this things we did was go up the Shard. If you are not from the UK then you might be wondering what on earth I'm on about, but the Shard is basically a relatively new building (it was finished in 2012) and is the tallest building in Europe, measuring a whopping 1016ft.up. One of my mum's friends gave us a voucher to go up it for Christmas, and we figured my birthday was the perfect opportunity to use it! The actual view from up there was incredible; Tower bridge and Big Ben look like they were part of a little wooden play set, and all the buses just seemed adorable. The perspective of all the tall buildings around us was totally distorted as well which mad it all feel a little surreal. One thing I did like was that I felt totally secure, and for someone without the best head for heights that was a big plus. I would definitely recommend this as something to do in the city, and it's not too touristy!

After that, it was defiantly time for lunch; we hit up Bella Italia just off Covent Garden, I went for Calamari to start and then had the Gamberoni pasta, two of my favorites. Next a spot of shopping was in order, we visited Carnaby street which was pretty underwhelming I'm sorry to say, but it was nice to have a stroll about. I did pop into Monki though (that store is so pretty) and picked up some pieces I really love. I was however disappointed that there was no Brandy Melville in sight, the reason I really wanted to go there! Have you been into that store? Then we set foot on Oxford street. Oh Oxford street; now I love you and loathe you. The shops are fab, but the constant press of people and the noise had started to get to me buy this stage. Oh and the girls in Topshop took snobbishness to the next level! By then it was definitely time for a cup of tea, and with a Colin the Caterpillar cake safely purchased form M&S we put our feet up for a little while. Sadly it was home time then, but the trains all ran in our favor and the journey was very pleasant!

I had a lovely birthday, and it was made all the more lover buy all of your sweet comments on my last post- thank you!

I've loved it ever since I was a few months old and am so lucky to be able to visit there a few times a month. I'm so nosey and love reading other peoples posts about it, where they go, what they see, what they prefer. I definitely know what you mean about Carnaby Street!
