April 2014 on There's something about Alice.

Hello everyone,
How on earth are we in the fifth month of 2014? April was a lovely month, I had my 16th birthday, Easter break and the weather has been pretty good. I have however obviously been gearing up for all my exams (my first one is next Monday- send help) but to be honest, they have been spoken about so many time for so long it feels a little as though they are never actually going to happen, anyone else feel the same?

Anyway, I loved blogging this April, I just wish i could have done more of it!

Your favourite post-
This months most read was my`Eyes are open finally ` OOTD (if you're wondering what song it is, watch this video and you will understand my obsession) I wore this for my birthday meal with my friends, so I'm so glad you guys liked it!

My favorite post-
My favourite this moth was probably the outfit I wore on my actual Birthday, I adore the dress and I just felt really nice in it.

My favorite blogger-
This month I have been obsessed with What Olivia Did. I have loved Liv's blog for forever, but this moth my girl crush levels went even higher! Her style is faultless and every post seems to have had so much love and attention put into it.

So there we have it, April rounded up!

What have you been up to lately? Did you have a favorite April post?

Empties #3.

Hello my loves, long time no empties post.
These bottles and jars have been slowly piling up over the months, so I finally bit the bullet and photographed everything!

-Bath and body-

First up is the infamous Lush Snow fairy shower gel, I blummin' love this stuff! I'm sure a lot of you will have tried this, or at least have heard of it, but if not, this is a shower gel that Lush bring out every year for a limited time at Christmas, and I was chuffed when I received this in a gift set. It has the yummiest candyfloss scent and pink colour, with a little bit of shimmer. This has little bottle has lasted me from Christmas, so it's done well! I will certainly be picking this up again next year, I love it.

The next product is technically my Mums, but I can't deny that I had the odd spray of this L'occiatine Cherry perfume every now and then! I urge you to pop into a store and give this a sniff, it is heavenly. It would make a lovely gift and I would be super happy to receive a bottle myself  Finally is a Soap and Glory Girlingo spray, this has lasted me forever and it is such a quick easy product; you just spray it on, rub it in and silky smooth skin is yours!

-Hair-

As you can see, I get through rather a lot of dry shampoo. Its just a quick, cheap and easy way to get an extra day out of my hair (I was it every other day fyi) and Batiste is always my go to brand. This giant can lasted me an age, and the littler one faired pretty well too. I like both of these scents, but I found the cherry one a tad too sweet, and just for the record, my all time favorite smell they do is the fresh one. It's pretty darn good. I will always repurchase a can of this dry shampoo, although I would like to try Doves offering, I've heard wonderful things about it.

The other empty is a Vo5 heat protect spray, I love the scent of this range (it's the same as Lee Stafford stuff I swear) and it always left my hair feeling really soft after using it. Although I do like this product, I found it would leave my arms all sticky if my spraying had got a bit too enthusiastic, also, I like trying out new hair products, so I won't be repurchasing this immediately.

-Skincare-

Yeah um, I guess I've got through a lot of skincare stuff! First, lets talk about all that L'Oreal micellar water. I love it, (as you may or way not have guessed) and as someone who often wears heavy eye makeup, I find this makes removal at the end of the day a breeze. I would definitely recommend this, and will continue to repurchase for some time. I've not used face wipes in the longest time *pats self on back*, these simple ones were finished ages ago now, but I do like them as wipes go, not stingy or stripping, they actually feel pretty nourishing, but I much prefer using a makeup remover and cleanser now.

The two little pots are of Nivea Express hydration primers which I have featured in favourites posts more than once. The are the perfect product to quicky pop on in the mornign before applying your makeup, they are super affordable too. I'm actually using a Rimmel primer at the moment, but I'm sure I will buy one of these again.

I find this simple moisturiser used to work for me, however lately me skin has been craving some thing a lot thicker that really soothes and smooths over everything (all will be revealed in my April favorites!) I find this one good if time is against me, but I seem to have just grown out of it I suppose.

These two Witch products work really well together and my skin gets along with the natural ingredients, defo on the re-buy list. Finally is Vichy's amazing Normaderm Hyaluspot read my review here, you'll get the gist of why I love it so!

-Makeup-

I've got through two concealers since my last empties; the blogger favorite Collection lasting perfection and a surprisingly good Miss Sporty offering. I won't bang on about number one, I'm sure your sick of hearing just how good it is (don't get me wrong, I'm firmly on that band wagon too!) but this Miss Sport liquid concealer is just amazing for the price (I'm pretty sure it's around the £3 mark) when I repurchase I will do a proper review, but it has a really lovely non cakey, medium coverage finish and is perfect under the eyes.

Next up, the Rimmel Scandaleyes Show off mascara, this was nice enough but I didn't love it enough to repurchase. A product that will always hold a place in my heart though is this Collection cream puff, I talked about the formula here, and this shade is so flattering on all skin tones- so get yourself to boots pronto! Finally is a Natural Collection loose powder, this does the job nicely, not terribly exciting but I know it works for me and would totally recommend it if you're on a budget.

Phew, sorry this turned into such a wordy post, I hope it was still enjoyable! I hope you all have a lovely Easter Friday, I will be in Oxford so look out for a post of snippets (seen as you enjoyed my London one) and an outfit of the day!

What have you finished lately? Have you tried any of these products?

Empties #2.

Hi there, It's time for another empties post :)

But first I thought I would update you with what's been going on for me lately. Like many of you I'm sure, I got a GCSE result yesterday,I'm just going into year 11 so I've only finished one GCSE, which was science, and I got an A! I was relieved more than anything, but obviously happy as well, it's nice to know that hard work does pay off!

Afterwards me and my family went for afternoon tea at Fawsley hall which was beyond lovely. My mum had a voucher for it from one of her friends for her birthday so it was lovely that we could all benefit! (outfit post coming soon!)
Other than that I'm just trying to get organised for the new school year which is starting to creep up on me. The joy. If anyone knows a good place to buy school shoes, please do let me know, because I literally tried on every pair in Clarks and none fitted, I am starting to panic! I also had a really lovely holiday in Scotland, really just relaxing and catching up with friends and family :)

Now, onto the empties! The majority of these things are from last month, and I'd had all them them quite a while; I always seem to finish things at the same time!

First up is a shampoo. All of my family use this and we all love it! I wash my hair every other day and this shampoo always leaves it feeling clean and nourished. I have quite fine hair which is what this is specifically aimed at, and I find it doesn't weigh my hair down which is perfect because I cannot stand that! I'm not sure it makes my hair particularly shiny, but that doesn't really bother me.

Would I repurchase it? I already have!

I bought this base coat with one of those `three pounds off` vouchers that they often have in Boots for No7, and I'm pretty sad it's finished. I used this as a base and top coat most of the time and it gave a really smooth, gel like finish, which is of course desirable! I would definitely recommend it :)

Would I repurchase it? Well next time there's on offer on, guess what i'll be making a bee-line for...

Next up is a product I featured in my June favourites post and I finished it pretty soon after writing it! This mask really does nourish the hair and leaves it feeling so soft afterwards, just what a hair mask should do!

Would I repurchase it? Yep :)

Ah, the Lush sweetie pie shower gel, I'm telling you, you have to smell this! As with all Lush products, it has an element for fun and is slightly gimmicky, but what's wrong with that? I actually gave one of these away in my recently, so I hope  Brittany likes it as much as I did!

Would I repurchase it? Although I did like it, I rarely buy a bath/ shower products again (I like to try new things!) so probably not.

This face wash is a bit of a classic for me; it was the first one I ever bought and I've got through my fare share of bottles, the simple reason being its good at its job. I know that it agrees with my skin (it's never caused me to break out,) and it smells divine and its a pretty pink colour :)

Would I repurchase it? Without a doubt, but I'm happily using another face wash right now, so in a bit!

This was the deodorant I kept in my school bag in the last term or so. I love the scent and it's a compressed can so it takes up less room and makes it so cute!

Would I repurchase it? Sure, see what I did there ;)

This is another part of my skincare routine (see all of it in this post!) I like to sweep this all over my face, targeting particularly blemish prone areas. I always leaves my skin feeling really clean and has a sort of hospital-y smell (?!) that i actually really like. Weird.

Would I repurchase it? Yes, I need to!

This is possibly the least exciting empty thing ever; nail polish remover *yay* I get through nail varnish remover like nobodies business, and this one did the job fine.

Would I repurchase it? Yeah, this is a thing I'm not fussy about!

Now this is a product that I really liked, this body wash had little red dotty things in it that when you rubbed into your skin, sort of popped and had tiny bits of glitter in them. Now thats my sort of shower gel. This has the classic Sanctuary product smell which is heavenly and leaves the skin super soft.

Would I repurchase it? Like I said with the Lush shower gel, I like to try new things! So maybe, but not immediately.

Another thing I seem to use up like there's no tomorrow is eye makeup remover. I wasn't actually a massive fan of this one; it took quite a lot of effort (and product) to fully remove everything which is not ideal when I'm wanting to jump into bed! It did have a nice smell though :)

Would I repurchase it? Well I have since gone back to my faithful Simple makeup remover, so I'm guessing you already know the answer ^.

Lastly, a staple in the old routine, the Primark 4 in 1 face wipes. I always have a pack of some sort of face wipes handy, and these ones are such a bargain I always try to pick some up when I venture into Primark.

Would I repurchase it? Always!

What have you used up lately? If you got your GCSE results/result then I hope you got what you wanted as well!

Empties #1

Hiya sweeties,
This is my first empties post! I've been keeping a bottles and everything for this for a while so lets get started!

Technically this shouldn't be in my empties, but we'll roll with it! We bought a L'Occitane set for my Mum for her birthday and this came in it. I was allowed to use this occasionally and boy is it nice! It makes the perfect amount of bubbles with just two cap fulls and leave your skin so soft when you get out of the tub. The scent is heavenly, and I'm not even one for lavender!

Would I repurchase it? Perhaps, it's pretty expensive, but I'd defo buy it for my mum again!

This Simple makeup remover is a total staple for me, I find its just so gentle on my eyes and removes everything so easily. I have slightly sensitive eyes so I'm not overly worried about using things on them, but I'm sure if you were concerned about irritation then you wouldn't have to worry with this!

Would I repurchase it? Of course! I was planning to replace it straight away but my Mum ended up buying me a Garnier one instead, we shall have to see how they compare.

I was gifted this in a set in Christmas and I loved it! It's basically the Tesco version of Soap and Glory but I don't mind that. This smelt AMAZING. Seriously, I think I prefer it to the S&G scent! This creates just the right amount of bubbles, and although it's not half as luxurious as the L'occitane bubble bath, it's just as enjoyable!

Would I repurchase it? I wouldn't go out of my way to, but I did love it!

When I finished this I was impressed and sure I would go on using it, but since I decided to buy the Rimmel Match Perfection foundation to replace it, I haven't looked back! I find it matches my skin tone much better and lasts alot longer. I did like this foundation, but I've found something much better.

Would I repurchase it? See above!

I'm sure you are aware that I want longer hair (who doesn't!) and I bought this conditioner , along with the rest of the range in the hope that it might speed up my the growth of my barnet. To be honest, I really don't like this conditioner. I found that unless I used the hair treatment thing beforehand, it did nothing for my hair. You know how a conditioner is meant to sort of sink into your hair and make it feel really soft and nourished? Well it looks like this products didn't get the memo. I mean its ok and perfectly pleasant, but it didn't condition my hair or seem to make it grow!

Would I repurchase it?I don't think so, unless the formula or something was changed!

I featured this primer in my June favourites, and I have loved it for a long time! If you haven't already, read that post to see why :)

Would I repurchase it? I already have, and will do forever!

This is another product I have already repurchased, I'm not so into hair products so I haven't tried that many heat sprays, but this one does the job perfectly.

It smells divine, protects my hair and leaves it super soft, so yeah!

Finally I have a perfume. Normally I would be sad to finish a perfume, but this one was about six pounds from Next, so there's no hard feelings :p I kept this in my school bag and always loved giving myself a spritz with it during the day :) This smells soo good, I actually really Next perfumes.

Would I repurchase it?I keep meaning to, so hopefully at some point!

And thats my first empties post!
Have you tried any of these products? What have you finished lately?
