Life through my lens #11 (Updates!)

Hello everyone,
Well it has been far, far too long since I last sat down and blogged. What with being on holiday, working and  seeing my friends and family I have been beyond busy, but in  the very best way. I though about going through these instagram collages and captioning them as usual, but a) that would take you an age to read and b) I think these picture speak for themselves and sum up a lot of my summer. In terms of updates I have a lot to tell you all!
Instagram- alice_evans_

Ok so first thing, I now have glasses. I need them for distance and for when my eyes feel all tired, meaning when/if I learn to drive I will have to wear them, I might do a post wearing them at some point! I've also been loving work, everyone there is so lovely and I feel like  proper part of the team now. I had a really lovely week in Wales (it didn't rain constantly like the forecast said) and it was so good to catch up with my family.I did try to take some outfit photos, but only one has turned out half decent so we shall see if I actually post them!

One fab thing that happened lately was finally getting to meet Lily! We had the best day in Birmingham and I have a full post on it coming soon.

And the thing that has given many a sixteen year old a sleepless night, GCSE results. I am chuffed to bits to tell you that I achieved an A* in French, Textiles, English literature and English language, an A in Science, History, Humanities and Drama and a B in Maths! I really couldn't be happier with my results and am honestly still in a sate of shock. It is so satisfying to realize that hard work pays off and all that effort was worth it! I hope you all got the results you were hoping  for, let me know! I'll be starting Sixth form in September, studying English Literature, French, Psychology and Government and politics- I do and don't want to start in equal measures.

I have to add that this summer has been one of the best I have ever had, I've done so much and just loved every week, I can't really express how much fun I've had and the people I've shared it with have just been the best.

I'm going to do my best to get back to blogging regularly, I've missed you all!

What have you been up to lately?

Life through my lens #6.

Hello everyone,
Seen as this is the last day of my half term, I thought a lifestyle-y round up post in the form of my Instagram feed was in order!

Wearing my favourite minty polish- Maybelline mint for life // Wagamama! Ginger chicken udon is the best // American Hustle was brilliant // Loving the dad's scarf and MAC Russian red combo // Another gorgeous shade- Topshop AWOL // the sweetest Fifi Lapin iPhone case // Guinea Pigs! // The perfect pink bath (the Lush's comforter and snow fairy shower gel FYI) // 'Taking pictures of myself' a la Nina Nesbitt.

I've actually done a fair amount this half term, seen lots of people and got a lot done. I had wanted to do a bit more blogging, but sometimes life just gets in the way you know?  Even though the nagging thought of approaching exams has been in my head, its been ok- and I think I am slowly getting somewhere with history revision! It's also been a dry week; thank god for the end of that torrential rain!

What have you been up to recently?

Birthday bits and bobs.

As I'm sure you are aware, (I've only mentioned it  few times!) I celebrated my Birthday last Sunday. I went to Bath with my family to visit the fashion museum. Bath was a really pretty place which we had never visited before, but I would defo recommend it :) We went down on the park and ride which worked really well, it was literally 10 minutes away from the center of town.

The fashion museum was really good! They had a really great collection, spanning a long time, which was very interesting as it showed perfectly how fashions have changed over the centuries . These were my favourite items from their collection:

The first one is a fancy dress costume in the shape of a champagne bottle! I can't remember exactly but I think it was from the 1920's or '30's. The middle picture is of a Chanel suit, which of course caught my eye because it's Chanel! It really is an iconic item, and I loved seeing this. The museum had those little auto guide things which told you a bit about each item which was really interesting :) and finally is a classic Burberry trench from 2012, I think it was great that they had such recent items as well as the Victorian and even Tutor stuff.

We ate lunch in one of my favourite restaurants, Wagamama! I had the Ginger chicken udon, which is literally the best thing ever!

Its making me hungry just thinking about how good this was!

*Just a quick disclaimer before I go on, I'm not trying to show off/ brag or what ever by dong this, I personally love reading `birthday haul` posts like this and I just wanted to share my Birthday with you!*

I received some really lovely gifts this year, mainly, my Olivia Burton Watch!

This beaut was my main present from my parents and I love it! I mentioned it previously in my Birthday OOTD post here and there's not really much more I can say, other than look how pretty it is, and get ready for seeing this in every OOTD! Check out her other beautiful, vintage inspired designs here.

My parents also bought me some really nice clothes, (other than my leather jacket which I'm sure your sick to death with hearing about!) All of these items are from H&M, they have some really lovely things in at the moment!

One of the things that caught my eye was this gorgeous lace crop top.

The lace is really delicate and pretty which I love about this.Topshop have something really similar to this which I had been thinking about purchasing, but this one was a lot cheaper, result!

Another item I chose where these gorgeous striped jeans

I'm sure you know monochrome is going to be huge, so this is my little nod to it! I am going to look a bit `beetle-juice` in these, but that's fine by me!  I'm planning an wearing these soon, so watch out for an OOTD ;)

Lastly from my parents is this gorgeous dress. I. am. in. love!

I just adore the colour and the style, its just so pretty! I love the fact that the lace at the waist band doesn't have any backing so it's see through and shows of the midriff, I just think it makes it a bit more fun and different :)

My sister bought me the Vera Wang `lovestruck floral rush perfume` which was actually on my first blog wishlist :)

I love this perfume and I'm so happy to have it in my collection! It also came with a free bag which we all found pretty funny; my dad presented it unwrapped and sort of like, um, this came with it! I think you may of had to have been there ;)

I saw my Auntie a few weeks ago , and she gave me my Birthday money then, so of course, I headed straight for Boots! I purchased a Tangle teezer and the real techniques stippling brush.
I cant stress how much I love both of these things, I literally don't know how I lived without them :)

Another Uncle and aunt bought me this gorgeous Paul's boutique purse

Admittedly, I'm not the hugest Paul's Boutique but I LOVE this purse!

My other uncle ( I have a few!) bought me this beautiful glass necklace

The glass-work is so pretty and unique and I adore the colours :)

My lovely Grandma gifted me this gorgeous little bag

The print is to cute! I was also given some money, which may or may not have already been spent ;)

My neighbor bought me this lovely new look top, I love the detail on the back!

I was also thoroughly spoilt by my wonderful friends this year :)

Firstly, I was gifted this gorgeous coral peplum top, its so pretty! Can't wait to wear :)

I was also given an assortment of jewelry
I cant wait to wear all of these bracelets stacked together :)
How pretty is this ring! I love delicate designs like this.

Another lovely present was this tea light holder and mug!
As you can see, I've already used the candle, and the mug is now storing my lip things!

Everyone one knows that I love a good old bath (especially lush!) I just hope the're not trying to tell me something!

So there we have it! I had an absolutely lovely birthday, and would like to thank everyone for my wonderful gifts :)

I'm back to school tomorrow (boo) so my blogging will have to come after revision and homework, oh the joy, put I'll post as regularly as possible!  I'm of now to do some science and spend my birthday iTunes ;)

My Easter.

Hi dolls!
I hope you've all had a lovely Easter and eaten a crazy amount of chocolate *reaches over to egg*
Sorry about my absence lately, but Ive been pretty busy!

As I have mentioned before, some of my family live in Wales, so this Easter we went to visit them :) Our cousins are a similar age to us, so we get on really well and its always nice to see them.

Travelling down ,I was really just dressed for comfort and warmth, but here's a cheeky car OOTD for you ;)

Leggings- Matalan, Top- Missguided
So we went down on good Friday, (obviously my school term finished on Thursday,) and stopped of at this really cute place called "Taurus crafts" which is all arty and has a really good cafe.

The cafe has this lovely conservatory area with vines wrapped around everywhere :)

They also had some really lovely paintings dotted around the place.

It takes us about three or so hours to get to where our family live, so we just chilled when we arrived :)

On Saturday we went to a little place called St. Faggons, which is like a museum showing the way Welsh people used to live.

I just wore my beloved republic jeans and my eBay (Topshop) batman tee :)

At St. Faggons they had some really sweet farmyard animals; including some new born piglets!

Later on in the day we went too Cardiff! Ive never been to the capital before, but its a really lovely city. Of course we included some retail therapy in our trip, my Mum bought me some really lovely items from H&M for my birthday, which I will be blogging about later in the week :) On a side note, I am so impressed with H&M's summer range, everything is so nice! In the evening we at in prezzo's, which was seriously good :)

So on Sunday, we went down to a place called Lorenney quay for lunch in this gorgeous little cafe. I have to say it was cold, so we were all wrapped up!

Me and my lovely cousin Imogen :)

The quay

My Grandma cooked us a lovely roast this day as well :)

Yesterday really was crazy. We had to get up early and have breakfast, not something I like doing in hotels, but we had to get home, as I was going to see One Direction in the o2! I went with my Lovely friend Lauren, a friend of hers from her swimming club, and her parents :) This was my first concert and I had been looking forward to it for ages. I know One Direction aren't to everyones musical taste, but their show was so good! We were literally sat two rows from the back, but the atmosphere was so amazing; lets just say I had no voice by the end and my ears were ringing!

My ticket, I thought I'd lost it at one point, you can imagine the panic!

Lauren and me looking crazily washed out :)

Look how high we were!

The boys on stage

We didn't get back until about half one this morning, so today I'm going to be eating more chocolate, painting my nails and catching up on TV :)

What did you get up to this Easter?
