Life through my lens #9.

Hello everyone, it's update time.
Like many of you, I am about to be plunged into my GCSEs. These are the biggest set of assessments I have ever done, which obviously makes them really important and I am determined to do as well as I possibly can.  This sadly means that blogging has to take a back seat (boo), but come my twelve week holiday (score) I will be back with full force!

Salmon stir-fry courtesy of me // Best girlies // Lusting after yet another dress... H&m why // Nudey nails (Essie Neo whimsical) // Lush smoothie for breakfast // My beautiful Pandora bracelet! // En route to Oxford ft. Pip // Having a Leo fest // Easter baking // Buddies USA was a feast // New Look newness (OOTD coming soon!) // obsessed with this dainty tattoo // Hair cut posing //  Laughing fit giggles with my cousins // MAC soft and gentle *heart eye emoji* // My £8 Topshop dress (cheers Oxfam)

So it looks like recently I have been eating lots of food, day tripping and obsessing over more clothes; not much change here then really! I can't say exams fill me with any joy at all, but I did feel like my French one on Monday went ok. I have History this Friday, all my Lit ones next week and then my second History one - the joys eh! I am however, seriously look forward to prom! I've got my dress and shoes, booked my hair, transport is sorted, so now I need to decide where to get my makeup done, let me now if you have any counter recommendations!

I am going to try to continue blogging as often as I can, but I don't want it to become labored or a chore because that will just take all the fun out of it. Anyway, this has turned into a bit of a rambley one! Good luck if you are doing your exams; I'll see you on the other side.

What have you been up too lately? Where did you get your prom makeup done?

Fanny Crown: Prom dress heaven.

Hello everyone,
I have a very exciting contest to share with you today. I'm sure lots of you are gearing up for prom season, so I'm hoping it will be helpful.
Fanny Crown is an online site that have a huge array of dresses for every formal occasion. They challenged me to pick out a prom dress and style it, so here's my entry! They have some fab prizes on offer;
  • 1 x Gold Prize: Write an article on any dress and get a chance to win the dress free of charge, shipping fee included!
  • 3 x Bronze Prize: Win a 100€ voucher for exceptionally written articles.
  • Unlimited x Qualified Articles: Get a 50€ voucher for any qualified articles. We have up to 97% approval rate.
I've actually already bought my prom dress, but Fanny Crown would be my go to destination if I hadn't.

The main attraction is obviously the dress, isn't is a beauty? I love the colour and if I was not white as a sheet tanned myself then I think it would look gorgeous. I love the detail at the top, it's not too blingy so runs no risk of looking tacky, plus it looks stunning on the sweet heart neckline. I went for a pink and silver theme with the accessories; these nail polishes look like a match made in heaven and would totally complement the dress. I think prom is the perfect excuse for a little bit of luxury, so this YSL lipstick is top of my list! The Vivienne Westwood clutch is a timeless classic and would go with lots even after prom. The shoes are really just prom classics, so pretty though! I think a spritz of this Limited edition daisy perfume would be the perfect finish; summer perfection!

If you would like to enter this competition yourself, check it out here.

What do you think of my look? Have you found your prom dress?

Here's to never growing up.

OOTD #23

Hi me lovers, hope your all doing well :)
This is an outfit from last week, as I'm sure you are all aware (I've only been going on about it for weeks!) it's still scorching in blighty, so I've just been trying to keep cool. Although as I write this it's really grey; typical!

Earrings- Primark
Top- Topshop
Watch- Olivia Burton
Skirt- Primark
Sandals- Brantano

I just can't stop wearing this top (see my last post featuring it here!) I'm still head over heels with it as you can see :) I think the print is just so cute and I love the shade of red. I talked more about why I love it in this haul.

I've been wanting to wear this skirt for ages, and I finally got round to it! I actually really liked wearing a long skirt, sometimes it is nice to change it up a little from my skaters, you know?

I adore these earrings (and they were a bargain!), I love the tribally inspiration :)

I adored my nails with one of my all time nail polish favourites; Essie Bikini so teeny;

Oh and my watch is back!

My hair is practically natural, I just ran over it mega quick with my straighteners. I didn't to fancy with my makeup, just the basics and my faithful cream puff!

Don't forget to check out my giveaway if you haven't already.

Yesterday I hit 100 followers on bloglovin! Thank you so much everyone, it's ridiculously rewarding to see that number go up from 50!  I hope you guys like the new blog design as well, I definitely prefer it!

What do you think of this outfit? How are you keeping cool?

June favourites.

Hello everyone, Pinch punch first day of the month! (it may be after twelve but I don't play by no rules) The time has come for another favorites post! I know I say this about practically every month, but where has June gone! I've been busy with life lately, but that has not stopped me from enjoying a multitude of products! I have also decided to include some on beauty items to make things a bit more interesting :)

-Sleek blush in `Pixie pink-

`Pixie pink` swatched and blended
I bought this blush quite recently and has since become a favorite in my collection. It is just the most pretty pink and I find always makes my face look so fresh and healthy. I love pairing this with a pink lip or just a lip balm, which helps to make the blush the main feature. Of course (as with all Sleek products) its uber pigmented and lasts all day, perfect!

-Herbal essences beautiful ends-

Even though my hair is in a pretty good condition at the moment, I have really loved using this treatment. First of all it smells AMAZING. Like seriously, I just want to walk around with this under my nose at all times, I'm normal like that don't worry :p The heavenly scent set aside, it's also so effective; after using this my hair is left so soft and shiny and the ends really do feel repaired :)

-Nivea daily essentials express hydration primer-

I actually checked through my other favorite's  posts to see if I had already mentioned this, and to my surprise, I haven't! I love this stuff! If you read my `Haul part one`  post then you would have seen that I've already bought another jar. I literally use this everyday without fail before I apply my foundation and it really makes a difference in its wear time and appearance after a few hours! If you haven't tried this then I can highly recommend it :)

-Real techniques expert face brush-

This is actually my sister brush, but sharing is caring right! So I have been stealing this recently to apply my foundation and I have found that NOTHING does it better! My foundation never looks patchy or weird when I apply it with this brush. It's defo next on my real techniques wishlist, but then so is the eye set so I just might have to keep using my sisters for a while ;)

-Essie `Action` -

Oh how I love this nail polish.  It's defo my favourite of all the Essie polishes I bought because I don't really have anything like it in my collection, It's super bright and summery, and I paid £1.99 for it!

-No7 amazing eyes pencil in `10 Brown`-

On the days that I have been favoring a stronger brow, which I don't feel I can quite get with my MUA pro brow kit, I have reached for this pencil. It's the perfect shade for my brows and still looks nice and natural (just more defined) when I use it. It's not actually very pigmented at all I feel, so that why I don't really like using on my eyes, but I find it is perfect for my eyebrows :)

-Collection cream puff in ` Cotton candy 1`-

I have loved these cream puffs for a long time, I had the shade `Fairy cake 3` for ages and deiced to repurchase that and this colour, and it has now become my staple, everyday lip! I just love the velvety feel when you apply it and the matte finish it gives. I think I will defo wear this forever!

Now onto the rest of my non-beauty favorites;

-Les miserables-

"Do you hear the people sing, singing the song of angry men, it is the music of a people who will not be slaves again..." I LOVE this film! I saw it twice in the cinema and bought the DVD as soon as I had the chance. It is actually now one of my favourite films of all time :) The acting and singing is a dream and it has a pretty star studded cast. Look, just go watch it!

-The fault in our stars-

Oh my. This book. I read this really out of curiosity as I had heard so many people talking about it and I basically wanted to see what all the fuss was about, and wow, this book was amazing, so tender and emotional. John Green has a wonderful writing style and I thoroughly enjoyed it, despite all the tears I ended up crying!

-Hana-

I actually saw this film last month I think through our Lovefilm subscription, and when I saw it in the supermarket for £2.99 I jumped on it! I'm not really one for an action film, but i really enjoyed this!

-The Great Gatsby-

Ohh, the Great Gatsby. This is sort of a double favourite, because I went to see the film earlier this month and absolutely loved it , seriously it was amazing!  The costumes made me want to cry because I don't live in the twenties and I cant wear a flapper dress 24/7 , the acting was so so  good, not to mention Leonardo DiCaprio plays the lead... So after seeing the film I decided to read the book, which is of course also wonderful :) It's a lot more detailed than the film obviously, and for that reason better. So basically, if you enjoyed the film read the book!I haven't actually finished this yet, because I was getting to the end at school, but I knew it would make me cry so I decided to wait until I was at home to avoid any awkward social situations involving crying over fictional characters. Yeah.

I've also deiced to show you my favourite items of clothing from this month, so here we go!

-Primark raglan skater dress-

If you have been reading my blog for a little while then you would have seen an OOTD featuring this dress (link here if you missed it!) and I have been loving it ever since :) Because it's so simple, I have been able to style it in loads of different ways, meaning I've got lots of wear out of it, result!

-International denim look skater skirt-

I love this skirt; You must have seen this baby is you've been reading for a while! I much prefer wearing skirts and dresses rather than trousers , as you may have guessed, and I really love this one for a casual look. Because I have worn it so much, I'm thinking of purchasing an actual denim skater, but I will wear this one for a very long time to come!

- H&M lilac swing top-

Another item of clothing I have been really loving this month is this little lilac number. Although I only recently showed you guys this top, I have been wearing it loads, with jeans, leggings and skirts. The colour is so pretty and it was a total steal at just £4.99! I think I may have to have a lot for some more next time I'm in H&M :)

So that's what I have been hearting this June!

What do you think of my favorites? What have been yours?

Only know you love her when you let her go.

OOTD #15
Happy Fathers day everyone! I'm not actually going out anywhere today, but I still fancied wearing a pretty dress :)

Earrings- River island
Necklace- Accessorize
Dress- eBay (love label at Topshop)
Watch- Olivia Burton
Tights- Tesco
Converse- Office

I bought this dress quite a while ago now from eBay, but for some reason I never got round to wearing it, but this morning I just thought there was no time like the present! It's such a lovely deep plumb colour that I love for autumn/ winter, but seen as it's not exactly blazing sunshine outside right now *looks up to grey sky* I thought the colour would work :p

This is officially my favourite necklace :) It just goes with EVERYTHING!

I have been looking for one of these earrings out of the pair for yonks, and I found it in the bottom of my school bag, so I popped them in as quickly as possible! In other news, I also found my eyeliner, it was in my pencil case :p.

As soon as my Essie polishes came, I knew which one would grace my fingertips first, Action! I love this colour, i think it goes really nicely with the purple as well.

Of course I also added my watch.

Right, I'm off to bake a cake! Enjoy the rest of your sunday :)

What do you think of my outfit? What are you doing today?

Essie haul.

Hi everyone!

You must know by now that I love nail polish with a capital L, so I thought I would treat my self to a few new Essie colours. I ordered these beauties from Fragrance direct, after seeing Emma's haul , I couldn't resist checking them out! These were a crazy £1.99 each! Considering Essie polishes are usually £7.99, that's pretty fab! Now I haven't purchased any Essie polishes before (mainly because the price put me off), but for so little I really couldn't say no to this deal!

The shades I picked up were (L-R) `Neo whimsical`, `We're in it together`, `Action` and `Bikini so teeny` (oh I just love the names! *squeals with glee*)

I love every shade! I think they will see me all through summer, so I shouldn't need any more... Yeah. When that day comes I will eat my metaphorical hat. But anyway, getting back to the colours in had, how pretty are they?!

First up `Neo whimsical`, a gorgeous toned down, neutral grey-y pink;

Another pink I know... But I just thought this was the loveliest pastel shade, made me think candyfloss :)

(You might need your shades for this baby!) Action certainly lives up to it's name! I don't actually have  a proper orange in my collection, so I'm so please I bought this one! The only thing I would say is the consistency was a bit weird when it got here (it was all lumpy) but it's alright now, and I'm pretty sure it must just be a dud bottle.

Lastly is `Bikini so teeny`. I have been eyeing this polish up on the Essie for some time so I was very pleasantly surprised when I saw this on the website!

I also added this Sally Hansen top coat to my basket (I must have accidentally clicked two!) because  my MUA and No7 ones have both run out, Sally Hansen is another I have never tried before, so I'm intrigued to see how this performs :)

What do you think of these shades? Whats your favourite essie polish?
