Going Ombre: Bleach London dip dye kit review.

Hello everyone,
You will do doubt know if you follow me on Instagram or twitter, that I Ombred my hair yesterday. I've wanted to do it since the trend started, but as ever I was last to the party, I just had the urge to do it and I'm so so pleased with the result. Huge shoutout to my fab bestie and fellow blogger Lauren, and too my sister for doing it for me,  without whom my hair would probably be a complete mess!

I went with the Bleach London kit, after lots of research and a quick chat with Eleanor who I had a huge ombre crush on, I was sold. This kit is so easy and contains everything you need, all for just £7!

So in the kit you get two sachets of the bleaching powder , plus the developing lotion which you mix together to actually dye your hair in the tray using the brush. The Blending lotion was one of my favourite things about it the kit, it means no harsh blocky line. You're also given a reincarnation mask which made my hair feel so soft, me and Lauren were shocked! The last thing is a pair of comically large gloves, why so big Bleach?!

The first thing we did was read the instructions very very carefully, they are worded a little confusingly, but were really easy enough to follow.

We started by sectioning my hair up. We split in into my top layers and bottom layers, clipping the top parts up. Then we applied the blending lotion to above were we wanted the ombre to start and massaging it in, so about two and a half inches below my ear. This was purely down to personal preference, the kit recommended just below the chin, but really it depends on the length of your hair.

Lauren in the ridiculous gloves! Obviously when dealing with bleach and other chemicals it's importation to keep them on at all times

The next step was to mix up the bleach. You simply pour the right things in and give it a good mix. We didn't use even a third of the bleach, it made so much!

Then you  get it on, you can see at the top of this picture that it lighted my hair pretty much from the start. All you do is use the brush supplied to paint it onto the hair. You want to concentrate on getting a gradient, so apply more towards the ends. I left it on for 25 minutes in total and that was just right. I have naturally pretty fair hair with some quite blonde bits around the front, so this kit was perfect. After the times up, you wash it with shampoo twice, then leave the reincarnation mask on for 10-15 minutes, then blow dry (with lots of heat protectant)

I bought the John Freida sheer blonde colour renew shampoo and conditioner, just to keep brassy tones at bay. I'll report back as to if they do their job!

This is the result;

I love it so so much! I was really worried about it being ginger, or having that awful line along the back, but o mu relief the opposite happened! The colour is a lovely buttery blonde, and it's really blended.

I would with out a doubt recommend it, the whole thing cost me just £13 (good old boots 3 for 2) and I don't think I would have been more pleased if I'd got it done professionally. A few people have even asked me if it was done by a pro!

What do you think of my ombre? Have you tried this kit?

Inspo no.2.

Hello everyone,
After my last inspiration post went down well (who doesn't love a page full of pretty pictures?) I thought I'd do another since I enjoy scrolling through Pinterest so much (read: too much.)

{All images from Pinterest}

Now I know that I am after a black floppy hat/over-sized fedora, but this post just makes me look like an obsessive, I didn't even realize how many of these images featured a hat! Also shoes, all I want in life at the moment seems to be in the form of footwear. I'm sure that means something. I can never get over how stunnign Audrey Hepburn was. I have major brow envy now too.

What's been inspiring you lately?

Life through my lens #9.

Hello everyone, it's update time.
Like many of you, I am about to be plunged into my GCSEs. These are the biggest set of assessments I have ever done, which obviously makes them really important and I am determined to do as well as I possibly can.  This sadly means that blogging has to take a back seat (boo), but come my twelve week holiday (score) I will be back with full force!

Salmon stir-fry courtesy of me // Best girlies // Lusting after yet another dress... H&m why // Nudey nails (Essie Neo whimsical) // Lush smoothie for breakfast // My beautiful Pandora bracelet! // En route to Oxford ft. Pip // Having a Leo fest // Easter baking // Buddies USA was a feast // New Look newness (OOTD coming soon!) // obsessed with this dainty tattoo // Hair cut posing //  Laughing fit giggles with my cousins // MAC soft and gentle *heart eye emoji* // My £8 Topshop dress (cheers Oxfam)

So it looks like recently I have been eating lots of food, day tripping and obsessing over more clothes; not much change here then really! I can't say exams fill me with any joy at all, but I did feel like my French one on Monday went ok. I have History this Friday, all my Lit ones next week and then my second History one - the joys eh! I am however, seriously look forward to prom! I've got my dress and shoes, booked my hair, transport is sorted, so now I need to decide where to get my makeup done, let me now if you have any counter recommendations!

I am going to try to continue blogging as often as I can, but I don't want it to become labored or a chore because that will just take all the fun out of it. Anyway, this has turned into a bit of a rambley one! Good luck if you are doing your exams; I'll see you on the other side.

What have you been up too lately? Where did you get your prom makeup done?

Hair-care and styling: products and appliances.

Hello everyone, I hope you're all having a lovely half term!
One thing I have never really focused on here is my hair; I'm not really sure why as it is a big part of my daily routine and the overall look I try to go for. So today I am going to share with you the products and appliances that I use at every stage to sort out my barnet!

To give you a bit of context, I have quite long, relatively fine, light brown hair with a center parting. I regularly use heat to style it although I think it's in pretty good condition.  I wash my hair every other day in order to keep it looking healthy.

Shampoo// So first up, I wash my hair with the Pantene Pro-v `Ice shine` Shampoo. This is designed specifically to be nice and light for fine hair, and I find it is true to it's claim as it doesn't weigh my hair down at all. It smells goregous- quite appley and lathers up really well.

Conditioner// As you can see, this is the matching conditioner to the shampoo. It is super creamy and moisturizing and leaves my ends feeling really nourished. There is nothing worse than a conditioner that doesn't condition!

Oil// We all know argan oil keeps our ends perfectly soft, so I like to use this Edward Beale one after I have towel dried my hair before I blow dry it. I picked this bottle up in TK Maxx just to try, and I love it! I would seriously recommend using a hair oil (whether it's macadamia, coconut or argan) because nothing leaves my hair softer.

Hairspray// I don't actually use hairspray all that often, but when I do, I always reach for this Vo5 one. I holds the style perfectly and unlike lots of other hairsprays I've tried, leaves it super soft and never crispy.

Texture spray// This is the newest edition to my hair-care stash , I saw it in one of Zoella's favourites videos and thought it looked worth a try! Honestly I'm not sure now much volume or texture it adds to my hair, but I do like using it- it smells amazing!

Salt spray// This was all the rage last summer, I love using this Toni and Guy salt spray to add that lived in feel to waves and natural hair. This little bottle has actually lasted me ages and I'll be sure to repurchase when it runs out.

Heat protecting spray// This is an essential step in my hair routine, I wont let any heat anywhere near my hair with out it! I have been using the Vo5 one forever now, it leave my hair really soft but I find it does leave a bit of a residue on my hairs if I'm not careful where I spray it! I have recently started using a classic L'Oreal Elnett one which I adore, again super soft and smells amazing- just like Lee Stafford products.

Hairdryer// I have had this Remington hairdryer for ages now, but I must say it is still going strong! I always blow dry my hair after washing it, and it takes me a round ten or fifteen minutes. I find flipping it upside down and then back again gets the best results- and lots of volume!

Curling wand// I wear my hair wavy most days, so this BaByliss curling wand is an essential for me If you would like to see how I curl my hair check out this post, just please excuse the photos!

Straighteners// When I do deiced to Straighten my hair, I like to use these Remington ones, they heat up really fast and I can do my whole head pretty quickly with them.

Heated rollers// Last but my no means least are my heated rollers, I got these for Christmas and I think I might have finally got to grips with them. They are the BaByliss Thermo Ceramic rollers and they are a totally fool proof way to get big bouncy hair.

I hope you enjoyed this post, I've set my self a little challenge hair-wise, so you should see the results of that pretty soon!

What do you think of my routine? What's in yours?

Say you're sorry that face of an angel.

OOTD #17

Hello everyone! This is what I'm wearing today, wishing I was at Glastonbury but actually stuck at home writing a History essay. Boo.

Earrings- Accessorize
Hair bow- International
Top- H&M
Cami- New look
Skirt- Miss Selfridge
Watch- Olivia Burton
Bracelets- DIY/Topshop
Sandals- Brantano

I love this top! I've been meaning to show it to you guys properly for a while now, so feast your eyes! It's such a pretty lilac and makes me feel so summery. Speaking of summer, where on earth is it! It's the end of June and I'm still having to layer up, today is the only day I've been comfortable enough (not dieing of cold) to not wear tights. So weather, sort yourself out please. Anyway! If I was going to Glasto, I think this little swing topnwould be perfect *sobs because it looks so amazing*

I decided to wear my `biscuit` earrings (that's what one of my friends likes to call them anyway!) as I thought they look nice when I have my hair up, which takes me on to another accessory...

My hair bow! Oh how I love this little clip, I think it just makes a simple messy bun a lot more interesting and so damn cute!

Sorry it's  wonky!

I also added these little bracelets to my ensemble;

I made the rainbow one ages ago but I still love it, it just adds a bit of colour ya know? I also popped my little charmy bracelet on to keep with the festival vibel.

I also had my watch on as ever :)

I painted my nails last night with one of my favourite colours, it's one of the maybeillne colour show polishes in `Urban coral` and I blumin' love it! It looks really orange in these pictures but its much more pink, its so nice! *looks down and admires nails for a minute*

I thought I would whip out the old gladiator sandals for this look as well, I've had these for ages and I'm sure they will see me through another summer!

Of course I had to do my toes to match as well!

I hope your all having a lovely Saturday :) The other half of my haul will be up tomorrow so look out for that!

What do you think of my outfit? Are you as fed up with the weather as I am?
