Life through my lens #4.

Hello everyone, I hope you're well, The big day is quickly approaching, but I thought I'd do a catch up post to fill you in with what's been going down in There's something about Alice land.

Stunning sunset from my Grandma's house in Wales// Obligatory festive Starbucks (Salted Caramel was a let down)// My city center is so pretty at the moment// Dumbo+Stitch = far too adorable// Big salady lunches are the best//  Choosing the tree of 2013// My little Christmas display in my room, it reminds me of the John Lewis ad :) // If you can't wear glitter at Christmas then when can you?// Face of the day posing (post here!)

Don't forget to follow me on Instagram!

I do like writing these posts, it give me a second to stop, write and really appreciate how lucky I am, especially at Christmas, I think it's at this time that we really need to be thankful for what we have and help others :) I am getting incredibly excited now, tomorrow I am going to be doing lots of baking and more Christmas film watching (standard)

I hope your all happy and healthy, let me know what you've been up to lately!

Top five: The Festive red lip.

Hello everyone, I hope your having a good sunday.
I for one have got a horrible cold so am writing  this without a scrap of makeup as well as a sniffle and a cough. Hot.

Anyway enough of me moaning, it's so close to Christmas now! Whenever I think of  makeup looks for this time of the year, a red lip is the first thing I think off, so with that in mind, I have compiled my top five red lipsticks, which are all different but perfect for the festive season :) I have swatched them all on the lips so you can see them in comparison to each other and also the category I think they fall into.

 `The matte red` -Topshop `Rio Rio`

As a self confessed lover of a matte lippie or ten two, this is one I totally adore. Topshop`Rio Rio` and is a bright red, far more orange toned than any off the others but is fab for brightening up the teeth and has brilliant staying power, perfect for when you're munching on your mince pies.

`The glitzy red` - L'oreal Paris `Feeric Fuschia`

This is a lipstick I was never expecting to like. It was free after spending a certain amount in my local boots, and never one to turn down a freebie I choose it out of a borning mascara and nail polish. It has tiny little flecks of glitter in it which initially was what I wasn't keen on, but have actually grown to love! It is perfect for Christmas and I have worn it on several occasions. Also, how perfect is the packaging; gold and holographic sparkles? Yes please.

`The classic red`- Rimmel lasting finish by Kate Moss in `01`

Next up is the classic red lip, simple but effective for any fancy occasion. The formula of this is super moisturizing and the colour is flattering on all skin tones, it also smells like cherries, so is definitely and all round winner.

`The berry red`- Rimmel lasting finish matte lipstick in `107`

`107`is a blogger favourite and I for one am firmly on the bandwagon, I have worn in in plenty of outfit posts (see here, here and here!) and adore it wholeheartedly. It's great if you want to stray from the classic, pillarbox red and into something more vampy, but be warned, it will be hard not to wear it at every opportunity once you have it!

`The glossy red`- Rimmel Apocalips in `Big Bang`

Finally we have `the glossy red`, a look that is seen on the red carpet every year and has been for decades. `Big Bang` is the perfect example of how they should be done; intensely pigmented, settles to a stain once it has worn down slightly, as well as being easy to apply precisely.

So that is  my roundup of the festive reds, now I just have to decide which one to wear come Christmas day!

Which one is your favourite? Are you going to be sporting a red lip this Christmas?

Trend #10: Party at Gatsby's.

Hello dolls, I hope you're all well :)
This weeks trend post has to be one of my favourites ever; Gatsby inspired. I have gushed about that book, film and era enough times, so I will save you all that and simply ask you to look below. Look.

Party at Gatsby's

Lydia Rose Bright  white lace dress /Tokyo Doll   sequin dress, / New Look cream top/ Topshop  sequin bralet /Zara mother of pearl clutch /Ted Baker evening box clutch

I can't take the timeless prettiness! The highstreet colour palette seems to be mainly cream, gold and black and I think it works so well for these pieces. The two dresses are perfect for any christmas party and just ooze glamour, the embroidery on the cream one is stunning and the black has just the right amount of sparkle going on. The top is a lovely way to wear the trend for a polished day look and is currently in the sale (only £13!) The bralet is fit for those who just want to dip their toe in the trend, rather than going full on flapper, I can imagine with would look amazing with disco pants as well. Now onto the clutches. Oh the clutches. These are both SO beautiful and are just timeless. The Ted Baker offering is so glitzy and the gold glitter is wonderfully festive. The Zara one actually has me weak at the knees, would you look at that mother of pearl with glitter detailing ? *Drools*

Are you a fan of this trend? What's your favourite item above?

I go back to December all the time.

OOTD #33

Hello my loves, I hope you're all well.
I for one cannot wait until Christmas, not just for the obvious reasons of gift giving, food and well, more food, but just so that I can have a bit of a break! Mock exams and controlled assessments have been slowly driving me crazy (I have a history one tomorrow, gulp) so it will be blissful to not worry about the origins of the Cold War for two weeks, do any of you feel my pain?

Anyway, back to the outfit in hand, this is what I wore yesterday when we went to get our Christmas tree! Not very christmassy I have to admit (there were plenty of people in festive jumpers) but I like it nonetheless.

Leather Jacket -ASOS
T-shirt- Topshop
Chain- Primark
Scarf- Mum's
Skirt- Miss Selfridge
Watch- Olivia Burton
Tights- M&S
Socks- Primark
Boots- New Look

This is literally my favourite t-shirt ever, it goes with everything and I always feel weirdly put together when I wear it. I can always rely on my Primark chain to jazz things up as well :)

Are you looking forward to Christmas? What do you think of my outfit?

Review: Lush Cinders bath ballistic

Hi everyone,
This seems to be the only way I start my posts these days, but yet again, I am sorry for my lack of activity! I have a week of hell mock exams, so I'm feeling a little worse for wear, but TGIF right! Last night I treated my to have relaxing bath using this Lush bath bomb `Cinders.

The scent of this is divine and actually quite festive, definitely not one for the height of summer, but perfect for these cold December nights. It doesn't do anything spectacular to the bath water, just turning it faintly yellow (the bubbles above are from a Simple shower gel) however that means there is no cleaning up to do afterwards, result! I'm going to stock up on some really christmassy bath bombs because I have made my own little tradition of using one on Christmas Eve every year, and then snuggling down in some new pajamas :)

What have you been up to lately? Have you tried `Cinders?`
