Charity shop finds #3 (and where I've been!)

Hello everyone, remember me?

It's been over two months since my last blog post. I never intended to take a break, but February was a tricky month as I was ill and I had lots of family stuff going on, and March has flow by so quickly I simply haven't have the time, with English coursework, French mocks and work keeping me busy. However since it's the Easter break and I've missed blogging so much I'm vowing to get back into the swing of things! 

Yesterday my Mum, Sister and myself went out for some lunch and did a bit of charity shopping in Stony Stratford. I can't tell you how nice it was to have break from revision and going into work! I find thrifting can be really hit and miss, I'll either see nothing at all and have a bit of a waisted trip, or come home with loads, and this time was definitely the later!

One thing I picked up was the navy, red and cream striped top. I am a stripe addict so this caught my eye straight away! Its Zara so is super soft and feels like really nice quality. It's a large so has a cosy over-sized fit.

This H&M top was only £1.50! As I said, huge lover of stripes so for a such a low price I couldn't really leave this. It's again a slouchy fit on me which I love, perfect for sixth form and I already know what I'm going to wear this with so look out for an outfit post!

I thought thought this goregous crochet cami would be lovely for the summer moths. I really like the dainty straps and I feel like I'll get so much wear out of it when the weather warms up.

I love the simplicity of this top, it's something I feel Audrey Hepburn would have totally rocked. I'll wear it tucked into skirts and anything highwaisted.

This was technically not my purchase but I have to share the jacket my sister bought! It looks so smart and the nicest length. I wish it wasn't so huge on me or I would be stealing it 24/7!

I think this skirt has to be my favourite purchase. It's vintage so has that lovely '50s shape, so super flattering on the waist. The combination of colours and the pinstripe design make me so so excited to wear it for a stroll along the beach!

One little trinket I found was this adorable metal elephant, It looks so cute on my window sill next to another one I have.

Finally is this mason jar glass, not actually from a charity shop, but I though I would include it here anyway. It's the most adorable design which I'm sure will encourage me to keep my water intake up! 

So that's what I found! A pretty successful trip I would say. 

It's my birthday next week (17!) so I have lots of fun things planned, as well as a stack of revision bigger than me to get done, so I will do my best to keep posting. I have honestly missed blogging so much, how are you all?! Do let me know if there are any specific posts you would like to see :)

OOTD #43

Hello everyone, I hope you're all well,

I'm sure if you follow me on any social media or have been reading this blog for the past month, you will know that yesterday I turned 16! I felt like I'd been 15 for the longest time, it feel good to have a little change you know? Any way, this is what I wore, I'm planning another post on what I actually did, so look out for that.

First of all, I'm in love with this dress! The smock style meant it was super comfy and I think the print is just so sweet, the colours lovely too. This is actually my school bag, but I needed something large to lug all my stuff about (as always) and I thought my Zara one did the job perfectly. 

Ah look at my locket! *squeals*This was a gift form my parents for my birthday, as you can see, the rose gold obsession continues!

I went with my favorite nail polish of the moment (and always it seems,) Essie `Bikini so teeny` I thought the blue contrasted really well with the dress.

Trend #10: Party at Gatsby's.

Hello dolls, I hope you're all well :)

This weeks trend post has to be one of my favourites ever; Gatsby inspired. I have gushed about that book, film and era enough times, so I will save you all that and simply ask you to look below. Look. 

Lydia Rose Bright  white lace dress /Tokyo Doll   sequin dress, / New Look cream top/ Topshop  sequin bralet /Zara mother of pearl clutch /Ted Baker evening box clutch

I can't take the timeless prettiness! The highstreet colour palette seems to be mainly cream, gold and black and I think it works so well for these pieces. The two dresses are perfect for any christmas party and just ooze glamour, the embroidery on the cream one is stunning and the black has just the right amount of sparkle going on. The top is a lovely way to wear the trend for a polished day look and is currently in the sale (only £13!) The bralet is fit for those who just want to dip their toe in the trend, rather than going full on flapper, I can imagine with would look amazing with disco pants as well. Now onto the clutches. Oh the clutches. These are both SO beautiful and are just timeless. The Ted Baker offering is so glitzy and the gold glitter is wonderfully festive. The Zara one actually has me weak at the knees, would you look at that mother of pearl with glitter detailing ? *Drools*

Trend #8: In the navy

Hi everyone, I hope your having a pleasant wednesday evening!

This is one of my favorite trends I've featured, I'm not sure what it it about it, but recently I have gone navy crazy! Perhaps it was Essie's `After school boy blazer`...

She Likes velvet skater dress// Orla Kiely shirt, / Topshop wool moto jacket / Topshop asymmetric skirt / KA-POK navy blue kitten heel shoes / Zara blue bag

First, lets start with the Orla Kiely shirt, it's crazy expensive (by my standards anyway,) but look at it! I adore the really structured collar and dainty buttons; a girl can dream right? I'm loving the whole asymmetric thing going on at the moment as well, so the skirt is right up my street. The flats are absolutely adorable, the little ankle straps! Velvet is a winter staple and navy makes it even more luxurious. The Zara bag is to die for, navy and gold detailing? Yes please!  My absolute favourite in this post though has to be the Topshop coat, it looks so snuggly and warm, if only I had a spare £93!

Trend #6 : Baby pink baby.

Hi everyone, hope your having a good Sunday :) 

This is a post that I never thought I would be writing in autumn, spring maybe, but not when I usually thinking about chunky knits and thick leggings. However there is no denying that the fashion world has gone totally crazy for this particular shade of pink , after that Zara coat hit the high street it has only gone one way, up!

I'm a huge lover of pink, so I for one am not complaining! I love the elegant Ted Baker coat, it's just a shame it's so pricey. The Topshop shorts and satchel had me at hello, so cute. The varsity jacket  rolls two trends into one and is also half price at the moment so whats not to like! I've also got baby pink on my nails at the moment so I'm feeling smugly on trend ;)

Hello my loves,

This is definitely my favourite necklace, it's just so versatile! It jazzes up a plain neckline and just adds some more interest to any outfit.

I was thinking about this the other day, and I've worn my watch for pretty much every day since my birthday and it's still as good as new and I love it as much as ever! Of course, today was no exception, I had my watch on :)

Another thing thats a total staple in my wardrobe are my white converse, they give any outfit that casual vibe which I love love love.

I know this wasn't the most inspirational OOTD out there , but I think it's good for the current transition we're going through, when one minute it's freezing the next there's beautiful sunshine! 

I hope your all doing well, I can't believe it's almost the end of September, time is seriously flying by at the moment.

Trend #5 : Totally Tartan.

Hello everyone :)

Guess what, this is my 100th post! I'm so proud that I've reached this milestone considering I've only been blogging since March. I feel like I've been blogging for about two minutes, so here's to another 100 posts! *raises mug of tea*

Anyway, onto todays trend, I'm absolutely loving tartan this season! I'm sure you're aware of this trend because everyone has been going crazy for it. 

Zara peter pan dress / Topshop plaid t shirt / Fashion Union Navy pleated skirt,  / Glamorous tartan playsuit, /Vivienne Westwood Tartan Card Wallet /Topman Red Tartan Scarf

My personal favourite has to be the Zara dress, look at it! I'm a sucker for anything with a collar so this ticks all of the boxes for me. I love the sort of schoolgirl feel it has to it, just too cute. Obviously I had to include some thing designed by the queen of tartan herself, Vivienne Westwood. I love the bright colours, it makes it a bit different, sadly this is definitely put of my price range, waahh. I have also been eyeing up the Topshop tee for a while, but I think it's pretty overpriced for what it is, if you've seen anything similar for cheaper let me know! Of course this wouldn't have been complete with out a tartan scarf, a total autumn classic. 

I hope you're all having a good saturday so far, I'm going to Costa later for my first hot drink of the season!

OOTD #25

Hello everyone! 

This is the first of the outfits I photographed for you lovely lot whilst on holiday last week;

I just wore this to go on a walk and a potter about where we were staying really.

I love the si-fi feel to this tee, its pretty over-sized and baggy, but that just how I like it! I bought this in a Zara sale a while ago, it had been reduced to £16, and then then to £8 and finally to £4, so I couldn't resit adding it to the collection.  

I thought my nail polish, (Essie's Action) would go really well with the colours in the top. I do love a good contrast. I've also been loving my midi ring, so pretty. 

I thought about changing into my converse and then taking these pictures, but then  I wanted to  give you a true representation of what I actually wore instead!My walking boots! I was walking after all :p I actually really like the colour of these and they are incredibly comfy.

Ah, my new bag, AKA, the love of my life. Its just so pretty! I finally have a bag that is the same shade as my watch strap as well, yay!

I feel this last photo is a little pointless, because the sun is stopping they're being any chance of you being able to see my make up, but still, here's my face.

So far today I have been recovering from a sleepover using as an excuse to lie in  , catching up on a few YouTube videos and blog posts and listening to Ellie Goulding *starts sing the title of this post*, so pretty standard really!

Trend #2 : White out.

Hiya dolls, It's time for another trend!

I personally love the current trend for white. Although it's not the most practical colour, I think it looks so effortless and classy. Even if its just a simple white tshirt, jeans, white converse and a pair of sunnies, it looks so polished and chic! Sometimes it nice just to strip it back; don't go for a pattern or motif, go for white!

OOTD #2

Hello all!

 If you live in the UK, you will know that yesterday was Red Nose day! for most people of my age, this means raising some cash for this amazing cause, and one of the best ways to do it is buy wearing what you want for school, and bringing in a donation. So... seen as my school is always non- uniform, but with a strict dress -code, I thought I would take full advantage buy wearing all the things I'm not normally allowed to wear! 

Anyway, onto my outfit:

I love this t-shirt; I like the colours and the motif in general really! I bought it a size up, so its quite over sized, but that's how I wanted it :). It was also a total bargain, this beaut was £3.99, reduced from £16.99! I always think its worth having a look in the sale section in Zara.

I wear these disco pants a lot, and hopefully I'm getting a proper pair ( not the AA ones, but a pair with the pockets and a zip) so i'll be waering them even more!

 

My denim shirt was also a little sale item, I bought this after Christmas; it was half price, £20, down from £40 :) I had my parka on over this as well. I wanted to take theses shots outside, but it was pouring :(

I decided to keep my jewelry quite simple for this outfit. I have quite a collection of crucifix necklaces now, and I love the turquoise colour of this one. Ive just got a simple pair of studs (in both respects!) for my earrings, nice and simple :)

I wore my trusty converse as well, I honestly think these are the comfiest brand of shoes ever! I thought I would wear socks with stars on, just to match my T-shirt :p I also wore my little DIY anklet as well.

I didn't have time to put much make up on this morning, But I did my eyeliner and applied Topshop `Brighten Rock` to my lips, I think its the perfect neon pink :)

Obviously I'm not wearing any red *Slaps wrists*, but I did have a red nose..

I did like my little dinosaur. 

As a class, we raised £85.30 for this fantastic charity., which I thought was pretty good, considering we normally have a measly £12 or something! I'm going to the theatre tonight with my family, I have no idea what to wear!
