FOTD #4.

Hi everyone,
One feature that has been seriously neglected on my blog has been `Face Of The Day` posts, I'm not sure why because I do OOTD's really regularly, but I'm determined to do more of  these now! This is a look I have been wearing a lot throughout autumn, I love the combination of gold and purple.

Products used;

Miss Sporty liquid concealer (used under eyes)
Collection lasting perfection concealer in `fair` (used on blemishes)
Rimmel Stay Matte foundation in `010 Light porcelain`
Translucent Rimmel Stay Matte powder
Bodyography blush in`Bashful`
MUA Pro-Brow kit
Wet 'n' wild eyeshadow stick (gold used as a base)
Rimmel eyeshadow duo in `Dessert`(cream shade all over the lid and the purple in the crease and outer corner)
Sleek I-Divine palette in `Au naturel` (used taupe in the inner corner, with regal and conker in the crease and outer corner)
Rimmel Flex mascara
Rimmel vinyl lipliner in `090 Hot Spark`
MUA lipstick in `shade 2`
Revlon lip butter in `Raspberry pie` (all three lip products blended together)

Over all I adore this look! It is light enough for day wear but could also be vamped up for the night :) I now have more revision to do, wish me luck!

What's your favourite look for autumn?

Life through my lens #3.

Hello my loves, I hope life is treating you well. I for one have been all over the place at the moment, stressed is not the word! But right now it's time to take a look at the interesting things that have been going on lately, and not the boring school side of everything :)

London again, I've seen my fairshare of tube stations now!// Me and pip posing near a fountain as you do//Bathtime is the best time//Halloweening with my girls//Visted Brighton for the first time, such a pretty place!//Costa's honeycomb hot chocolate is the one//Hershey's cookies 'n cream you yummy thing you//My class raised £104 for children in need// Selfies before travelling to wales

So that's what's been going down with me lately, I have a week of mock exams next week, thrilling times I'm sure you'll agree, so I'm basically just doing revision and homework 24/7, boo! I have got some things to look forward too, a few of my friends have birthdays coming up so they'll be some good times then, and guess what guys? It's less than a month until Christmas!

What have you been up to lately?

Trend #9: Warm and fuzzy.

Hello everyone,
I hope you're well. Life has been pretty hectic lately, hence the lack of posts. I had a French speaking assessment last week (which I finally got a B for!), a Humanities CASS next week and then an English one soon after that, so school has been full on, but excuses aside, it's time to talk another trend. This edition sees one that has been taking the high-street by storm; fluffy, fuzzy, brushed everything!
Warm and fuzzie

Topshop cranberry dress / Topshop baby blue jumper / H&M emerald cardigan , / Topshop powder pink coat /  / River Island pastel checked mini skirt/ Topshop bold checked mini skirt

I'm afraid this has become a very Topshop centric post, but in my defense I'm sure they are the ones who kicked this trend off. Starting with the baby pink `it` coat of the season, I can fully see why this style has had so much love, it is just adorable! Not very practical I have to admit, but now that pastel pink has been unleashed from just spring and summer, I can see this being a classic for years to come (read my baby pink trend post here). The dress above it is definitely more of an acquired taste, but as always if you can pull it off, then go for it! The H&M cardi is such a goregous jewel tone, I can imagine it would look stunning with anything gold. The baby blue jumper looks so snuggly and warm, perfect with a boyfriend coat and black skinnies, along with some tan ankle boots. Finally my two favourite items, these skirts are so goregous, the River Island offering if you're a pastels gal and the darker Topshop version if you perfect traditional autumn shades!

Are you a fan of this trend? What is your favourite item?

Beauty bargains haul.

Hello everyone,
I hope your doing well on this dreary Monday evening. My day has been pretty boring, so I thought to perk myself up I would do, as promised my beauty bargains haul!

Everyone of these items was either 50p or a £1, pretty amazing I'm sure you'll agree! Just to give you some background, I saw an add for this beauty clearance in my local paper and made sure I kept the address. When we got there it was basically just a big warehouse space with tables laid out in rows and then little buckets with all of the products in. On arrival everyone was give a plastic bag with you then filled with what you wanted. I have to say it was hardly the classiest experience, but it was fun!

First up are the face products, I didn't buy anything other than blusher (surprise surprise) and I was seriously impressed with what I did bring home with me.

I jumped at the opportunity to buy Wet 'n wild products because I never see them here in the UK. I adore the peachy pink shade of this blush and the pigmentation and wear time are fab. The middle swatch is a bodyography one. This product was billed as being able to be used on the lips, in the brows and on the cheeks, but I know the only place I'll be using it! This is perfect when you have quite a bold eye as well as a striking lip, because I think a strong cheek colour as well can turn the whole thing a bit pantomime dame.  Lastly is a Color cosmetics blusher. I sort of threw this in and didn't really think about it until I got it home, but I was pleasantly surprised! It actually reminds me a lot of Sleek `Pixie pink`

I ended up buying my fair share of eyeshadows on this trip, I'm glad I did though!

I won't go through everything but my favourites so far have to be the Wet and Wild cream eyeshadow and liner duo (the silver packaged one) because it is so easy to use to create a lovely everyday look. The chunky pencil is actually a concealer stick, but I bought it to use on my waterline and it works a treat. The Collection dazzle dust I found is a stunning duochrome pink gold, so I can't wait to find a way to wear it!

One thing I was probably too excited about were eylure lashes, they were only £1 each! I decided to get three for that very reason.

I went for two of the upper and lower lash sets as they were such good value and then one pair of the brown toned lashes.

Of course one thing I was very excited about was all the lip products that would be on offer!  I love each one of these and they aren't too similar to anything else in my collection either which is definitely a good thing.

The Wet 'n Wild lipsticks are incredibly pigmented and the colours I bought are beautiful; one a really rich plummy red and the other a bright fushia that makes my teeth look really white! The bourjois products are interesting as well. The little pink pot is filled with a really watery stain that then dries and stays put all day once it has been applied, whereas the `lipcream` is pretty similar to my beloved cream puffs and a lovely brick red colour. Finally the two collection lipsticks are goregous everyday shades which.

I decided to pick up these lip liners as I only had one bright red one;

The middle swatch is perfect for when I'm wearing any sort of berry toned lipsticks and the other two for pinks and peaches, so I'm really glad I spotted these!

Finally are the nail polishes I went for;

I've already worn the purple wet 'n wild shade with the Maybelline top coat and it looked amazing! I'm really look forward to using the other two now as well :)

So there you have it, all of these fab products for under £20!

Have you tried any of these products? What's your favourite from this haul?

It's a new art form, showing people how little we care.

 OOTD #32

Hi everyone, I hope your having a lovely Saturday, I can't believe it's so dark already! This is what I wore for a spot of charity shopping and general beauty bargain hunting last weekend (see my haul post here) Also let me know what you think of the bigger, individual full length shots!

Jacket- ASOS
Shirt- H&M
Scarf- Mum's
Bag- Matalan
Watch- Olivia Burton
Jeans- Matalan
Socks- River Island
Boots- New Look

I wanted this look to be layered , so I went for my staple white shirt and leather jacket and then borrowed this gorgeous burgundy scarf from my mum :) I love the velvet and sheer combination, with the baroque feel to it. It also adds the perfect pop of colour to my outfit.

I decided to wear my favourite boots with this look, along with my favourite frilly socks. These are so comfortable and passed the test of walking around all day!

You can see the slight dip hem of the shirt in this picture which is partly why I love it so much! This bag is the perfect size for all my bits and bobs so of course was essential for a day of shopping.

This picture of my beloved watch comes with an added rain drop, all in the details I guess!

Today has been spent doing English and French homework, we're studying war poetry at the moment and watched a really good film in class called `Regenerate` if you're a fan of war films you should definitely give it a go. Tomorrow is going to be much the same I think. I trust you all enjoyed the Children in Need shenanigans that went on yesterday? My class raised £104 which was pretty good considering we were just selling cans of drink!

What have you been up to today? What do you think of this outfit?

Charity shop finds #1.

Hi everyone, I hope you're well.
Last Saturday was the Saturday of bargains; In the morning my mum, sister and me went to a huge makeup sale where everything was either 50p or £1 (haul coming soon!) and later on in the day I went to a sweet town near me called Stony Stratford to do some charity shopping. It was amazing. I can safely say I will be doing this thrifting lark more often, Lot's of vintage prettiness and supporting amazing charities? Yes please.

This is what I ended up bringing home with me:
Tea cup and Saucer- £1.30
Tin- £5.00
Necklace- £2.50
Yankee Candles- £1.99 each

I'm totally in love with everything I bought, they look adorable in my room! Now I tell a lie with the Yankee Candles, these were not actually from a charity shop, but I wanted to show you them because they smell so amazing! Sugared apple makes me want to cry with happiness. True story. The Necklace is so delicate and pretty, I love anything with a vintage or cameo feel to it so look out for this in future OOTD's. I saw the tin and was undecided over it in the shop because it was £5.00, however I'm so glad it came home with me! I've decided I want to start collecting pretty teacups to put tea lights in, trust me, it looks so sweet!

I can see this becoming something I do regularly, I found it oddly therapeutic just pottering around and the bargainous gems; I'm officially a charity shopper!

What do you think of my finds? Are you a fan of charity shopping?

#BritishBloggerSelection: About Me Q&A.

Hello everyone, I hope your having a lovely Sunday.
The theme this week for the #BritishBloggerSelcetion is a `About You Q&A/Interview`  which Ellie has devised. I love a good Q&A post, it helps make your blog more personal don't you think? so without further adieu, here are the questions!

Why do you like Blogging?
I enjoy blogging because it gives me a platform to share things I love, as well as being able to connect with others who have the same passions as me! I'm also a huge lover of English, so I enjoy the actual writing aspect of blogging, as well as being able to take pretty pictures :)

How did you come up with your blog name?
One of the biggest hurdles for we when I started my blog was coming up with a name; I basically just had a list of possible contenders on my phone (some of which were horrendous I must add!) and I finally came up with some I was happy with, and There's something about Alice was born!

Where in the UK do you come from?
I'm from Milton Keynes, born and raised! It's quite near London, about half an hour away on the train to give you some context.

What's your favourite colour?
I like pinks and purples, or just any pastel shade really; I'm such a typical girl!

Do you like Lana Del Rey?
Hell yeah I do (see this post!) I absolutely adore her music and style.

Any hidden Talents that you have?
Nope.

Celebrity crush?
Ah where to start; Harry styles, Zac Efron, Leonardo Dicaprio, Johnny Depp...

Favourite blog of all time?
Without a doubt Sprinkle of glitter, that blog is perfect. Fun fact, I have had the pleasure of meeting Louise and Zoe :)

What made you want to join #BritshBloggerSelection?
I've never actually done anything like this so I was eager to get involved . I like that it connects bloggers up and down the Uk and is another community to be part off!

Are you taking part in the #BritishBloggerSelection?

You never alter, you're always you.

OOTD # 31

Hi everyone, yay for it being Friday!
This is what I wore when I went down to London about two weeks ago, we met up with some friends and wandered round Kensington Palace (which I would highly recommend!) so I was mainly just dressed for comfort and warmth, but I actually really like the outfit I ended up with.

 Earrings- Primark
Jumper- Primark
Jacket- ASOS
Midi ring - River Island
Watch - Olivia Burton
Dress (worn as skirt) - New Look
Tights- M&S
Converse- Office

This is my absolute favourite jumper at the moment, it's just so snuggly! I adore the pastel blue shade with flecks of pink and purple. I inadvertently ended up matching my nails to the jumper, this goregous shade is a Barry M gelly hi shine polish in `Blueberry` which I love, you can't beat a bit of coordination in my book.

I've been totally loving these earrings recently, such a bargain at only £1.50 as well.

I decided to go for my converse (which have definitely seen better days now!)  to keep things comfy and casual :)

Finally, I went for a standard make up look, cat flicks and a bold lip all the way!

I hope you've all had a lovely week, time seems to just be flying by right now, I still can't believe there is only 46 days until Christmas! I'm really excited this year, Is it ok for me to be feeling festive already?

What do you think of this outfit?
