Charity shop finds #2.

Hello everyone,
Over half term I did a spot of charity shopping, which is fast becoming one of my favorite things to do; ambling around somewhere quaint, chatting away to good company, helping worthy causes and then topping it all of with a tea stop- sound good to you?

I'll start with my two cheat items, not from a charity shop but two pretty not to share!

First up is this Paris poster, I was lured in by the vintage feel and goregous illustration. I'm sure you don't need to hear it again, but I am dying to visit  Paris, everything about it just calls to me! This was only £3.75 from an amazing independent shop The Nest at No.9, I literally want everything in there. Keeping with the French theme for a second; I got an A in my last french speaking exam! I was totally shocked considering last time I did it I only achieved a C, so chuffed is not even the word!

The other item I picked up was this adorable tea light holder. I am partial to a candle or two, and this one was just to pretty to leave on the shelf. This was a snip at just £2.50 as well.

Next is something a bit weird top get excited about, put I finally bought a pin board! I have wanted one for my room for what seems like forever, and when I saw this for just £1 (yep £1) in a charity shop I knew I had to have it. I should have a post coming up all about how I plan to jazz it up, so keep your eyes peeled for that.

Next up, a Ted Baker gift set. All the products where unopened and for only £3.50 I couldn't say no. This retails for £10, so it was a pretty good bargain! I adore the scent of Ted Baker products so I can see myself using these a whole lot.

Finally, a new jumper (which I have on right now FYI) This was from the men's section, but I was drawn to the colour and also the slouchy fit on me; in short- mega warm, and a snip at £5.

What do you think of what I found? Are you a fan of charity shopping?

The blogger made me buy it tag.

Hello loves,
I was tagged by Lydia recently to do the `The blogger made me buy it` tag, and here we are today. Before we begin, Lydia's blog is seriously gorgeous, her photos are stunning and she post really regularly, so head over here an show her some love!

1. Who are your most influential bloggers? Who are the ones that you really rely on for reviews and swatches?
I love Lily (Lily Pebbles), Vivianna (Vivianna does makeup), Zoe (Zoella) and Bethany (Birds Words) and fully trust their opinions! They always have really clear images and feel like they are fully honest with reviews.

2. Do you buy a product solely as a result from one review from your favourite bloggers, or do you look for more reviews from others?
always read lots of reviews when before I part with my cash, so I would always check out more than one blog.

3. What is your most favourite item that you have ever bought as a consequence of blogs?
Without a doubt, my Naked three palette. I knew as soon as my rose-gold-loving eyes saw it, I had to have it! The fact that it was all over my favorite blogs 100% added to the lusting, but I am so glad that I did by it- defo lived up to the hype! Read my thoughts on it here.

4. What is your least favourite item that you have ever bought as a consequence of blogs?
Just like Lydia, I found the Maybelline Baby lips such a disappointment. I thought with the frankly ridiculous amount of hype they had, they were going to be amazing, but alas, they literally are just a standard lip balm ~cries~

5. Name 5 products you have bought recently as a result of blogs.
Okeydokey; Kate Moss for Rimmel 107 lipstick, Maybelline BrowDrama, Urban Decay Naked3 palette, Maybelline Baby lips and the Maybelline Rocket volmum' mascara.

6. Have you ever given into blogger hype? If so, which hype?
I think the list above and photos are pretty self explanatory! I would never buy something just because of the hype, but it definitely has an influence on my spending.

7. Have you ever avoided blogger hype? If so, which hype?
Not really, I tend to think is something is hyped up, it is generally worth it.

8. Is everything you buy based on blogger reviews or are there some items you buy without checking out a review?
Not everything I buy is as a result of a review or a bloggers raving ( I live on the edge- what can I say) I actually quite like it when I find something new and unexpected. If I see somethign in Boots that catches my eye and I haven't seen a review on, I will still add it to my basket!

So, I would like to tag
Charlotte- Sharlotte
Elise- Elise Dopson

Life through my lens #6.

Hello everyone,
Seen as this is the last day of my half term, I thought a lifestyle-y round up post in the form of my Instagram feed was in order!

Wearing my favourite minty polish- Maybelline mint for life // Wagamama! Ginger chicken udon is the best // American Hustle was brilliant // Loving the dad's scarf and MAC Russian red combo // Another gorgeous shade- Topshop AWOL // the sweetest Fifi Lapin iPhone case // Guinea Pigs! // The perfect pink bath (the Lush's comforter and snow fairy shower gel FYI) // 'Taking pictures of myself' a la Nina Nesbitt.

I've actually done a fair amount this half term, seen lots of people and got a lot done. I had wanted to do a bit more blogging, but sometimes life just gets in the way you know?  Even though the nagging thought of approaching exams has been in my head, its been ok- and I think I am slowly getting somewhere with history revision! It's also been a dry week; thank god for the end of that torrential rain!

What have you been up to recently?

I'll forget you not.

OOTD #38

Hello my loves,
I have had the most lovely day; I bought my prom dress! I love love love it so much, I'm sure you will be hearing a lot more about it! My mum my sister and me also went out for lunch at one of our favourite Italians and then did a spot of charity shopping and picked up some wonderful bargains, a pin board for only a pound, an unopened ted baker set and also a gorgeous vintagey Paris poster.

This outfit of the day is what I wore on Monday for another spot of charity shopping whit my friend (call me obsessed!) wearing one of my favorite dresses.

Leather jacket - ASOS
Dress - Vintage
Scarf - Vintage (Dad's!)
Watch - Urban Outfitters
Tights - New Look
Converse - Office

As soon as my dad whipped this scarf out of his wardrobe a few weeks ago, I knew I would be borrowing it. I adore anything even vaguely tartan/ check related so you can see why this is right up my street. It is super cosy and pure wool so it is lovely quality- defiantly a keeper!

This dull weather has got me craving the summer colours, so what better way to help my self than on my nails? This is Models Own `Hedonist` which is far more coral in real life but still just as satisfying as the orange it is showing up here!

My faithful Converse where on to keep thing comfy and casual.

My relatively new watch also made an appearance- I adore the mix of gold and silver.

I hope your all having a lovely half term, mine has just completely flown by!

What do you think of this outfit? What have you been up to today?

Hair-care and styling: products and appliances.

Hello everyone, I hope you're all having a lovely half term!
One thing I have never really focused on here is my hair; I'm not really sure why as it is a big part of my daily routine and the overall look I try to go for. So today I am going to share with you the products and appliances that I use at every stage to sort out my barnet!

To give you a bit of context, I have quite long, relatively fine, light brown hair with a center parting. I regularly use heat to style it although I think it's in pretty good condition.  I wash my hair every other day in order to keep it looking healthy.

Shampoo// So first up, I wash my hair with the Pantene Pro-v `Ice shine` Shampoo. This is designed specifically to be nice and light for fine hair, and I find it is true to it's claim as it doesn't weigh my hair down at all. It smells goregous- quite appley and lathers up really well.

Conditioner// As you can see, this is the matching conditioner to the shampoo. It is super creamy and moisturizing and leaves my ends feeling really nourished. There is nothing worse than a conditioner that doesn't condition!

Oil// We all know argan oil keeps our ends perfectly soft, so I like to use this Edward Beale one after I have towel dried my hair before I blow dry it. I picked this bottle up in TK Maxx just to try, and I love it! I would seriously recommend using a hair oil (whether it's macadamia, coconut or argan) because nothing leaves my hair softer.

Hairspray// I don't actually use hairspray all that often, but when I do, I always reach for this Vo5 one. I holds the style perfectly and unlike lots of other hairsprays I've tried, leaves it super soft and never crispy.

Texture spray// This is the newest edition to my hair-care stash , I saw it in one of Zoella's favourites videos and thought it looked worth a try! Honestly I'm not sure now much volume or texture it adds to my hair, but I do like using it- it smells amazing!

Salt spray// This was all the rage last summer, I love using this Toni and Guy salt spray to add that lived in feel to waves and natural hair. This little bottle has actually lasted me ages and I'll be sure to repurchase when it runs out.

Heat protecting spray// This is an essential step in my hair routine, I wont let any heat anywhere near my hair with out it! I have been using the Vo5 one forever now, it leave my hair really soft but I find it does leave a bit of a residue on my hairs if I'm not careful where I spray it! I have recently started using a classic L'Oreal Elnett one which I adore, again super soft and smells amazing- just like Lee Stafford products.

Hairdryer// I have had this Remington hairdryer for ages now, but I must say it is still going strong! I always blow dry my hair after washing it, and it takes me a round ten or fifteen minutes. I find flipping it upside down and then back again gets the best results- and lots of volume!

Curling wand// I wear my hair wavy most days, so this BaByliss curling wand is an essential for me If you would like to see how I curl my hair check out this post, just please excuse the photos!

Straighteners// When I do deiced to Straighten my hair, I like to use these Remington ones, they heat up really fast and I can do my whole head pretty quickly with them.

Heated rollers// Last but my no means least are my heated rollers, I got these for Christmas and I think I might have finally got to grips with them. They are the BaByliss Thermo Ceramic rollers and they are a totally fool proof way to get big bouncy hair.

I hope you enjoyed this post, I've set my self a little challenge hair-wise, so you should see the results of that pretty soon!

What do you think of my routine? What's in yours?

Celebrity style #7: Chloe Moretz.

Hello everyone, Happy half term!
It was the stunning Chloe Moretz's birthday this week, so I thought it was as good a time as any to take a look at her style.  She is practically the same age as me, which I must say is pretty upsetting... However, instead of being envious I'm going to be appreciative!

Chloe's laid back style is always effortless, she has that whole, `I-threw-this-on-in-five-seconds` thing down. Despite this, she wears a lot of heels which smartens up any outfit.

1.2.3.

1. This bomber jacket is so lovely! I love the all-black outfit built around it. Black skinnies always look super chic but also have the comfort value. Of course she wouldn't be a Hollywood darling without a pair of sunnies would she?

2. Despite the fact that I think that could be real fur (something I am wholeheartedly against) I  love this outfit. She wears leather trousers and sunglasses, with lace up heeled boots and a gorgeous distressed and/or  battered Mui Mui bag!

3. Finally a classic festival look; short shorts, a band tee and checked shirt. I love the addition of the flower crown with the tougher biker boots to balance it all out as well.

My favourite aspect of Chloe's style has to be her red carpet looks. She always appears so youthful and clearly has a lot of fun deciding what to wear!
1.2.3.

1. This is such a pretty party frock; I love the navy and maroon combo for the tile print, and even the shiny fabric (normally something I hate) gets a thumbs up form me. The shoes are to die for as well!

2. This has to be my favorite out of the three. The striking neon yellow shade looks gorgeous with her skin tone and the flower print is just adorable.  I love the red nail polish and black heels and the length is just right.

3. Another colour that looks wonderful on Miss. Moretz is turquoise, the panel design of this dress is super flattering and I love the nude heels with their pop of neon yellow just under the toe.

Chloe seems to favor smudged out eyes and nude lips in the makeup department, which I must say suits her down to a T, plus she is always smiling in photos- a girl after my own heart!

Are you a fan of Chloe's style? Which is your favourite outfit?

Fifi Lapin iPhone case by Iconemesis.

Hello everyone,
I was recently contacted by Iconemesis asking if I would like to choose an iPhone case from their extensive range. Now two things went through my mind at this stage (a I don't own an iPhone, and b) the cases on offer were two good to be missed! So long story short, my sister received an iPhone recently for her birthday, and she adored all the designs on offer as much as I did, so together we chose the adorable Repeat pattern by Fifi Lapin* case!

I'm sure some of you will have heard of Fifi Lapin; she was hailed` the worlds most stylish bunny` by Elle don't 'ya know. The combination of pink, black an orange is so pretty, and this is defo a whole to cuter than your average phone case. The plastic feels really durable and the print doesn't look like it will ever fade or wear off. The fact that every little bunny is wearing a different outfit is just the cutest thing ever as well! The  embossed Iconemesis at the bottom is a lovely touch too, they have some gorgeous cases on their website- defiantly something for everyone. This case retails for £15 which I honestly think is a fab price for the quality and design.
If only I was the one with the iPhone!

What do you think of this case? Are you a Fifi Lapin fan?

Review: Seek blush by three `CALIFOR.N.I.A`

Hello everyone, I hope your having a fab Sunday,
I have spent mine doing French preparation of a speaking assessment tomorrow and drinking lots of tea; pretty standard!

Here we have a recent love of mine, the new Sleek blush by three palette in `CALIFOR.N.I.A`, a gorgeous trio of cream blushers that are just perfect for when spring finally arrives!

First up, the packaging, of course it comes in the classic Sleek packaging (by name and by nature!) which I totally love and it a lot sturdier than a lot of compacts I own. I also adore the box it comes in, a lovely, more luxe touch. The shades are meant to be inspired by California, (hence the name) and to be honest, I'm not sure how well the theme translates, but they are stunning none the less! `Newport peach` is a bright pink, `The surf` a pretty peach nude and `OC` a coral toned pink. Although I love all three colours, I think `Newport peach` is my favourite, it gives such a pretty flush of colour to the cheeks which stays all day. I love Sleek's blushers, I reviewed the blogger favourite Lace palette here, and I adore this one just as much, I should have a FOTD up featuring it soon! This retails for £10, a fab deal considering that's around £3 per blusher!

Also, I finally got twitter! follow me here

Are you a Sleek fan? What do you think of this trio?

I have a little face of the day for you here. This look was focused around the lipstick- Dark Night water- oops! that I reviewed last month here. I adore the shade and I think it looks lovely with this subtle, matte brown eye.

Collection lasting perfection concealer in `Fair` (used under eyes and on blemishes)
Rimmel Match Perfection foundation in `010 Light Porcelain`
Rimmel Stay matte powder in `Translucent`
Sleek Contour kit in `Light` (bronzer and highlight used)
Collection Shimmer shades blush in `Blushalious `
Maybelline Brow Drama in `Medium brown`
Sleek i-Divine eyeshaow palette Au Naturel (shades `Nougat` used all over the lid with `Bark in the outer corner and crease)
